Rooted was born from a simple desire to help Caribbean women pause. In a world that keeps asking for more, this journal invites you to slow down, listen within and find your way back to yourself. It honours culture, memory, emotion and the gentle ways we learn to carry both joy and challenge. Rooted is a companion for moments when you want to breathe, reflect and remember who you are becoming.
Why I Created RootedI created Rooted because I know what it feels like to carry so much that you forget yourself. As Caribbean women we hold many roles at once and we are expected to move through life with grace even when our hearts are tired. I have lived that rhythm. The giving. The rushing. The quiet moments where you realise you have not taken a breath for yourself in days.
Rooted began as a whisper. A small reminder to pause. A place where I could pour out the parts of myself that I never made time for. Over time I realised that so many of us are longing for that same stillness, that same softness, that same return to who we are beneath everything we do.
I wanted to create something that felt familiar and comforting. Something that feels Caribbean in spirit. Honest. Simple. Warm. A journal that does not ask you to perform or be perfect, but invites you to be present and real.
Rooted is my love letter to women like us. Women who deserve gentleness. Women who deserve to honour their story. Women who deserve to rest.
